Notes

Battersea Power Station was two distinct coal fired stations built in the 1930s and the 1950s. It supplied power to many homes in London until the station ceased generating electricity in 1983.
Over the years it has become one of the best known landmarks in London and there are numerous images of this ‘upside-down table’ with its four soaring chimneys. The Battersea Power Station was renowned for its lavish Art Deco interior fittings and decor.
It is a Grade II* listed building, but re-development has been allowed and it is nearing completion for housing and commercial use retaining the look of the exterior.
